Author Guidelines

Authors who are interested in submitting articles for publication should send it via email to the email thesispsicologica@libertadores.edu.co or through the OJS application: https://revistas.libertadores.edu.co/index.php/TesisPsicologica / submission / wizard

BRIEF GUIDE OF CITATION AND REFERENTIATION

 Taken from the 6^th edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA, 2010).

For a correct citation, it is essential to include the author, year, and page of the source. It is important to take into account that the author will be identified with his last name.

Quotation inside and outside the text

“Textual quotation…………..………..”  (Author, year, p. xx)

In cases in which the quotation is part of the paragraph, the way to do it is author. (Year) “put the quoted  text between quotation marks and finish with the page number” (p. xx)

When the source has no paging because it is an electronic source or similar, the page number will be replaced with the number of paragraph. (Author & Author, Year, Parag. xx-xx).

If the paragraph receives ideas from several ideas or concepts from different authors or texts, every source must be quoted by separating each quote with a semi-colon. (Author, Year; Author & Author, Year; Author et al. Year)

Quotes with 40 words or more will be located in an independent paragraph, and instead of quotation marks, using indentation of 2.5 cm approximately.

Quoting two or more authors

If there are two authors, both of them must be quoted along the text, Author y Author (Year, p. xx). When the two authors are quoted inside the brackets, the ampersand will be used (Autor & Autor, Año, p. xx) and outside the brackets, “and:Author, Author and Author (Year, p. xx)

When there are between three and five authors, all of them will be quoted the first time they appear in the text. (Author, Author, Author, Author & Author, Year, p. xx) and then, the last name of the first author along with the convention “et al” will be indicated. (Author et al. Year, p. xx). When there are six or more authors, the rule before mentioned will be used from the first quotation. (Author et al. Year, p. xx)

Quoting associations or institutions

This section makes reference to all those sources where institutions, associations, groups, corporations, entities or similar are authors or main source for the text. In these cases, the full name must be written and then the acronym or abbreviation can be used indicating it from the beginning. Example: (Asociación de la Revista Tesis Psicológica (ARTP), 2010)  o Asociación de la Revista Tesis Psicológica (ARTP, 2010, p. xx)

References

At the end of the article, in a chapter called “references,” the list of references that were used throughout the text will be included. The references will be organized in alphabetical order according to APA rules(2010) as follows:

Books

Author, A. A. (year). Title. Place of publication: Publishing house.

Book chapter

Author, A. A., & Author, B. B. (year). Title of the book chapter.  In A. Publisher, B. Publisher (Eds.), Book title (pp. xxx-xxx). Place of publication: Publishing house.

Periodical or non-periodical publications (journal articles)

Author, A. A., Author, B.B., & Author, C. C. (year). Article title. Journal title, volume (year), pp-pp.

Author, A. A. (year). Article title. Journal title, volume (year), pp-pp. doi: xx. xxxxxxxxxx

On-line electronic documents of periodical and non-periodical publishing

Author, A. A. (year).  Article title. On-line publishing title, volume (year). Retrieved from http:// www.xxxxxxxxx.xx

Conferences or other events

Author, A. A. (Month, year). Title.  Lecture presented in Name of the Conference or event, Place, country.

Author, A. A. (Month, year).  Title of the work.  Work or session presented in the conference Name of the Organization, Place.

Thesis works and dissertations

Author, A. A. (year).  Title of the doctoral or master thesis (unpublished doctoral or master thesis).  Name of the institution, Place.

Note: The form of presentation of tables, graphics, quotations, references, and text in general, must be according with the APA rules. Before any doubt, concern, or discrepancy on the criteria about quoting or referencing, prioritize the information found in the most recent version of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association.
