Justice and territorial peace: experiences, challenges and challenges of the local justice system in the Department of Cauca 2017-2018

Abstract

The objective of this document is to characterize the local justice in 13 municipalities of the department of Cauca, with the purpose of contributing to the collective construction of strategies for the articulation of the administration of justice. For this, based on a quantitative methodology from the use of the Local Justice Index of the Ministry of Justice and Law, as well as the use of focal groups with 13 key local actors of each territory, it was possible to identify the barriers to access to justice, social conflicts, the limitations on the administration of justice and submit intervention strategies, articulated with the local public institutions. With this, the document manages to inform some scenarios of discussion and reflection about the importance of local diagnoses as a fundamental element for the strengthening of the local justice.
